The ACORN Centre opened its doors on Monday 4th April 2016. The Centre is for anyone aged 50 and over living in the Borough of Great Yarmouth. A place to come and meet new friends or to catch up with some old ones. It's also the home of Age+Connected where staff and volunteers are on hand to offer information and support.

     Legal Surgery Services             On Wednesday mornings, fortnightly,  we are able to offer free 30 min legal surgeries on Power of Attorney, Wills and Probate with LB Wills & Probate.

Your Feet will be in good hands at the Acorn Centre with our NEW Foot Health Practitioner,Kerrie who is now based at the centre 3 days a week and is fully qualified and insured to take care of all your foot care needs.

Diabetic Foot Health, Foot Pain, Toe Nail Cut and File, Ingrown Toe Nails, Calluses, Cracked Heels, Fungal Infection, Athletes Foot, Corns, Cuticles Tidied, Also Finger nails cut and filed and to give yourself a little pampering, finger and toenails painted too!





                                     



Community

The centre is open weekdays Monday to Fridays, offering two daily sessions, morning 10am till 12pm and afternoons 1pm till 3pm. Available everyday will be activities including table top games, pool, darts, cards, puzzles, table tennis, knitting and more.


Other activities throughout the year include information events, fun days, tea dances and quizzes.

These are a few of our most recent programs. Each and every year, we carry out more than 1,000 programs across the borough, involving people of every interest and need.

    10.00 am - 12.00 pm Men’s Mardle, Pool, Knit & Knatter with the NORFOLK KNITTERS AND STITCHERS. 

    11.00am -2.00pm MONDAY LUNCH CLUB 

    Pre -booking required 

    Enjoy a lovely home cooked lunch , delicious dessert including unlimited teas and coffees and have a fun social afternoon with games and quiz. £9.00 per person

    Enjoy a varity of social walks with others in the local town centre area seeing many areas of historical interest. 

    1.00 pm - 3.00 pm NEW 'ONE O'Clock ROCK!'

    A fun, feel good afternoon to enjoy with friends and to make new ones too, listening and dancing to the much loved classics songs of the 5O's, 60's. Laughter and Fun Guaranteed!

Age+Connected at the ACORN Centre have taken the decision to make a change to the old membership scheme and we will be inviting you to our NEW scheme and for you to become a  FRIEND OF AGE+CONNECTED this will be coming in a few weeks time so you can show your support to the centre that makes such a difference to so many!

Being a friend of AGE+CONNECTED will not make any difference to the entrance fee of £4.00      (per standard session) to the ACORN Centre and EVERYONE 50+ WILL BE WELCOME THROUGH THE DOORS TO THE ACORN CENTRE AND HAVE A CUPPA WITH US!
